You'll love this Ralph, the design Arch is here in NY/NJ, "he" wants wood.
The Arch of Record (quaint way of saying "local") says no friggin' wood!

Thanks,

Okay folks I have a tough one. Some architect has called us for advice on
using wood sunshields in the desert outside Phoenix AZ. He wants it exposed
and untreated for a super high end project. Some runs will be over 200 feet
long. Got any suggestions???

I can tell you that in Arch school at ASU they told us not to use anything
smaller than a 2x in the desert if we wanted it to last any length of time.
This idiot may think he's gonna start his super high end project with
untreated lumber, but my guess is that the ultimate appearance, after not
too long, will be more in the shithole range. You might ask if that's what
he has in mind.

Where is this idiot architect located, and where does his idiot client plan
to live from May through October while his untreated wood is baking?

Ralph
