I was overwhelmed with the responses and the choices that were offered. Thanks to everybody who was sharing so freely their own great experiences. I haven't made up my mind yet. All of them look very impressive, I googled all and organized the restaurants by area:
Santa Monica:
Border Grill - make special food for Celiacs
Real Food Daily - organic vegan cuisine
Julian's Raw - raw vegan food (several mentioned this one)

Beverly Hills:

Hollywood:
Yamashiro restaurant - http://www.yamashirorestaurant.com/ someone had their gf wedding there, and also voted best place to kiss in LA; food looks incredible;
Providence - http://www.providencela.com/ - voted 1 of the 50 best restaurants in the US, very chic!
Falcon - http://www.falconslair.com; modern, elegant;

Malibu:
