I'm probably a charter member of la petite papier societe, and I
figure it this way:  It's a business meeting, and business people
bring pertinent documents and materials to conferences and
meetings in order to be prepared for a effective exchange.

The doctor brings his/her chart, notes,  labs, and training;  I bring
my notes,  experience, and outside info, and we do
business.  He doesn't apologize for his paperwork, and neither
do I.  It's just good business.
