hi everyone

i've been lurking on this list for a while and am finding it very
illuminating. i'm encouraged by all of the discussion of alternative
treatments - something that i beleive MUST be explored, if only because
the trad. doctors seem to know so little about this type of disease.
i was diagnosed with graves disease in november and underwent RAI in
early december. after a short period of hypo symptoms, my thyroid
levels are (or seem to be) fine - don't thave the last range of tests to
hand - but all i know is that i feel like a different person.
the problem, however, is this: i have been displaying some eye symptoms
which seem to wax and wane and have definitely discovered that certain
foods aggravate them so am avoiding things like salt and alcohol.
however, alongside this - i've had this overpowering itchy-ness which
started on my ankles and has now spread all over my body. again this
waxes and wanes and doesn't seem to be caused by a rash as such - just a
burning itch. at first i thought it was the myxedema that comes with
this disease - but no. the doctor says it isn't and was probably an
allergy to some herbs that i was taking. well - 3 weeks later - no
herbs - and i'm still itching. any ideas??? i am desperate and even a
dermatologist that i went to can't explain it. but i feel that it MUST
be related in some way.

hope someone has an answer to this perplexing question!
