Liz, I may be biased, but I think your local medical library would be the
best place for you to start looking. They can help you do a Medline
search and locate books that would explain the condition and procedures to
you. Hospitals often have patient libraries where the information is
written for the lay person. Try the hospital where your mother is going
to have her surgery. Good luck!
