While not being conscious of hair loss, my hair has thinned over recent months, as if it is just not growing. Because of my age my doctor thinks it is likely to be hormone related but is reluctant to prescribe HRT as I have no other serious menopause-related problems. However, since I do not have particular risks for breast cancer or stroke (and there is even evidence that risks of these are lower for celiacs), I would consider HRT if it was likely to help. Has anyone else experience of HRT in relation to hair?
There is no history of hair loss in myself or my family, I am not anemic and am otherwise well. I do have Hashimoto's thyroid disease but this is currently well controlled and has not caused hair problems since diagnosis.
Charlotte, Oxford, UK
