In the Old Testament days, if you had a rebellious child that was not able
to be handled, the parents turned them over to the city elders and they
stoned them. That is a bit drastic and illegal I might add hehehe. But yes
a firm disobedience calls for a firm hand, while yet sometimes mistakes
call for an understanding helping hand. The thing is with us as parents
here. At 18 or so we are released from legal duty of parenting, and of
course are always there for our kids but our upbringing and discipline
stops while God has to continue to whip his kids in shape until they show
up at his doorstep one day. Imagine having to spank your 70 year old kid?
