Phil,

God can, he is all nowing some scripture references...

Ps 94:11-12
11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man;
he knows that they are futile.

NIV

Ps 139:2-4
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
NIV

Ps 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
NIV

Prov 15:26
26 The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked,
but those of the pure are pleasing to him.
NIV

Luke 11:17-18
17 Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: "Any kingdom divided
against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will
fall. 18 If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I
say this because you
NIV

He can know them, and I think provides a choice for us to follow him and
we make the choice. If he knew them and just did what he felt was
appropriate or made us follow him and not our own self, firstly we'd be
his robots and only doing what he directs us to by remote control from
heaven, as well then what would we need Christ for, we'd not be sinning if
he knew our thoughts and made us follow him instead.

I have heard it often said, the Enemy, or the devil, or Satan, cannot read
your mind. Is this true? Any Biblical evidence to this? Let's say it is
true, although I am not convinced yet that it is, but just for the sake of
discussion, let's say that it is true. turn this concept around. Can
God,
I E, the Holy Spirit perhaps, read our minds? Yes? No? Why, or why not?
We know that God can but does He? If so, does He need our permission
first?
If not, what happens to free will if he deliberately reads our thoughts.
Any ideas on this?

Phil.
