LETTER OF THE DAY
Kennedy Kaonga is disillusioned with his life in the United Kingdom:
I am a Zambian nurse working in the UK. Earlier this week I read an article in one of the newspapers here that said nurses in the UK are working in fast food restaurants because they can't get jobs in the National Health Service.
Why? Because the NHS employs foreign nurses and pays them less than the UK trained nurses.
I feel used by the system - economic slavery. And for this reason as a matter of principle, I am coming back to Africa, making a point that Africa is not just a place on the map, its place in my heart.
