I have some sight and I have sighted people telling me when there is a crack or step. I use to get a little irritated when I was younger and thought I did not need any kind of help and show people I am independant but now I just ok thanks. They do not know how much or what I can see. So it is a safety factor. and sometimes it does help because of my depth perception
