How does one do this? I have never taken communion in the hand, but isn't
there a way to prevent such a thing from occurring. I recall a homily given
once by our local perish priest admonishing the children not to partake of
the precious body and blood of our Lord with unwashed hands. This is
another reason I am opposed to the reception of the precious body of our
lord with the hands. I hate to say this but I have never seen the
monstrance. Perhaps someone can describe what one looks like. I did bring
the gifts to the alter once but I brought the chalice not the host.
