This is interesting because some scientists like Ray Peat think progesterone
is protective against cancers. On the other hand, some breast tumors are
progesterone dependent -- and therefore, ingesting more progesterone may not be a
good idea for someone with progesterone positive breast cancer. I know I have
luteal phase defect -- my progesterone level has tested low -- but, I have
long menstrual cycles and not a lot of bleeding and no bad cramping or anything -
so I just figure maybe less progesterone is right for me. I do have uterine
fibroids and cystic breasts -- but again, my bleeding is not extensive. I am
curious whether dairy products spiked estrogen as well as progesterone levels.
Right now, I'm rather confused. Dairy products are not paleo -- but when I
am in a situation where the meat is way too lean, I've resorted to adding
butter -- and sometimes I'll eat sheep cheese. But I realize these things are not
paleo.
