So, do you propose to keep them there forever until they die? They
are POWs, not proven killers. I can't think of any Americans being
imprisoned for life without trial that wouldn't raise a stink. I can
also say that by imprisoning these men without trial or a fair
hearing, we have done damage to our reputation as a fair and just
nation - I agree we should have arrested the terrorists but we
should have put them on trial. We did it for the Germans after WWII
- why not do the same for them?
I know - the Islamists don't have trials - they just behead or shoot
people they think of as enemies - but that doesn't mean we have to do
the same thing.
Also, when and if the war in Iraq should end and we let these men go,
who's not to say they won't go straight back to terrorism again
because of the way they have been treated?

you may be right, they may not havbe anything now. but
do you let them go again. they are going right back to
the fight. by the way some down there should be turned
over to you brits, but you will not take them. i'll
email the pres with your kind offer to take them on.
now that you mention it 3 days with some of my family
might do the trick too. maybe at a family reunion.
they'd plead to be taken away after one day with all
the barbers in one place.
it is always good to get your imput.
