I think that you are alright with just using the one 4-pin 12 volt
connector, but I'm just guessing. This is why I suggest that you pose your
question to Biostar's tech support.
If the previous information about the 2x4 connector being necessary for
processors using 130 watts of power or more; then, your Windsor is just
under that limit, as I see it is a 125 watt CPU.
It actually draws more power than the new quad-core Phenom, since the
Windsor is a 90mn process CPU drawing 1.4v and the Phenom is a 65nm
processor drawing 1.25 volts. The current Phenoms are only shown as 95 watt
CPUs.
Sorry I can't give you a more definitive answer.

Subject: 8 pin cpu updated question
since the motherboard (am2) can also support a quad core cpu, is it possi=
ble for a dual core i only need the 4 pin?
I GOT BIOSTAR TA770 A2+,,,,WITH A AMD ATHLON 64X2 DAUL CORE PROCESSOR(WIN=
DSOR 3.2 GHZ NOT OVERCLOCKED),,,1 GIG DDR2 800.
AND I DID PUT THE 4 PIN CPU POWER IN IT ,BUT THE CPU SOCKET ON MOBO IS =
8 PIN.
NOW IT IS RUNNING FINE, BUT ITS MY FIRST DAUL CORE CPU. NOW WOULD THE EXT=
RA 4 PINS BE FOR A QUAD CPU? AND MY DAUL IS SAFE WITH 4 PINS?
NOW IN MY UTILITY MONITOR IT SHOWS
CPU TEMP=3D 26C
CPU FAN=3D 3000 RPM
VCORE=3D 1.42 VOLTS
VBAT=3D 3.36 VOLTS
THEN NEXT TO VCORE, SHOWS A BATTERY LIKE VCORE BUT NO NAME, BUT HERE ARE=
THE VOLTS FOR THAT 3.3VOLT,12VOLT,5VOLT,AND 4.7VOLT=20=20=20=20=20=20
