Subject: Cookie problem
Since i re-installed windows, I have trouble with cookies when ordering
merchandise on the internet. Typically, I select a few things and the cart
shows empty. It is the same on internet explorer 6 and 7, and on Firefox. I
check the privacy options and it is set to medium. I set it on low and the
problem is still there. I sign on as a different user and it still fails. It
fails with different merchants. It fails with zone alarm turned off.
I went to the cookies file and removed all cookies with the name newegg (the
one I am trying to buy from). It still fails. In the case of one user, the
cookie file has the attributes -h -s. I went to cmd mode to change these so
I could look at the cookie files. In all cases, the cookies did not have the
items I was putting in my shopping cart.
I am able to place the order using my old computer with Windows 98SE.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
