Dear List,

I don't have any interest in these stores or their products except to shop
there and eat the food after I bring it home! I'm just letting you know what
I've found...
You can check it our for yourselves as to whether it's right for you.

A few months ago I called Stater Bros. Corporate here in California - they
contacted the manufacturer. Stater Bros. brand ice cream's modified food starch
is derived from Corn.. - both the sugar and the sugar free.. They don't add
anything with known bad gluten in it except for the obvious flavors -- cookies
and cream, etc.. Check the label for ingredients. 1.75 Qts sells for $3.49 I
looked up all of the ingredients on the Internet, and I couldn't find anything
to the contrary of what Stater Bros. said about it.
The Cherry Vanilla, Vanilla, etc are all with corn... The only allergen that
is listed is Milk.. I just have to be careful how much of the sugar free I
eat -- it can cause many trips to the bathroom (Sorbital) - if you eat it like I
did when I first tried it - like 1/2 of the container... But, it's been years
since I had anything like this - besides being Celiac, I'm sugar free and egg
free. I just have to limit myself to a cup at a time and I feel fine.

Also, Albertson's carries Food4Life's Brown Rice Bread for only $2.39 a
loaf.... Our local health food store sells it for $3.89 a loaf.. If you request
it from the bread manager at Albertson's -- he or she will order extra, and
will call you when it comes in.. They know that it's not good to let it set on
the shelf... I just got 8 loaves and froze all but one when I got it home.

Just thought that you'd all like to know about these "finds."

:), Jerri
