Just go to My Computer, highlight your CDRW drive, click Properties; see if 
the fifth tab over is Recording.  Under the recording tab, you will need to 
use your review cursor to see if the checkbox enable recording on this drive 
is checked.

Neither WiinEyes nor Jaws appear to read the checkbox in normal screen mode. 
So, if the box is *NOT* checked, you will need to left-click it.

Take my advice, I don't use it anyway
