I know this wasn't addressed to me, but I wanted to point out that the way
he used the word "god", it was not a name, and therefore not being
capitalized is correct. I didn't read any disrespect in his comment. The
usage was the same as if I were to say "Most of the tribe believed in a
short god with fiery eyes." His usage only seemed offensive because it
referred to your particular god -- just as the natives of the tribe I just
mentioned might be offended at my sentence, while you would not.
