You may attach a 2nd HD in 3 different ways:

1. Together with the primary HD set to master and
secondary, slave, on the same primary IDE cable. Check
the circuit board on the HD. It is often marked
DS,CS,Pk for master, cable select and park or slave.

2. separately connected on secondary IDE cable as
master.  Sometimes the secondary HD must be set to
master.

3. separately connected on secondary IDE cable as
slave.
