No, you don't need to do anything. Just locate the folder where you backed
up to (usually Windows/ERDNT folder by default, not always the ideal
place), run the Erdnt.exe file located within that folder, and tell it to
restore. It will do the rest---takes about 10 seconds.
It's painless and very simple. Has saved my bacon on numerous occasions
ever since the W95 days. And you can keep known good registries forever. Of
course, the further back you go, the more you may need to reinstall. That's
a small price to pay to keep that sparkling performance.
It's the only way to keep your registry in good clean condition----registry
cleaners only do a very superficial job.
