Beeps can mean many things. Certain beeps are an indication that all is well
and then there are times that they mean something is wrong. You didn't
mention which BIOS you have and after looking at my resources I find that
the BIOS may be AMI and the four beeps might indicate that the timer is not
operational which in turn means the motherboard may be defective. It can
also indicate there is a problem with the memory in the first 64KB
operational memory. This section is what the CPU uses.
Each Motherboard manufacturer buys the BIOS chip from one of several
manufacturers and they modify the code for that particular board. It is
possible that the BIOS version you have may be outdated and needs to be
flashed or replaced. This is merely a suggestion due to the fact flashing or
changing the code may render the board useless if it isn't done properly. I
don't recommend this procedure for those who are not thoroughly familiar
with computers.
