It was probably me. My son has trouble with sorbitol - if he consumes too
much (which for him is a small amount), his eczema flares. I believe that
it can be an intestinal irritant. It gives some people diarrhea; fashion
models are known to eat whole packs of sugarless gum to keep their weight
down (yuck).
If you suspect that it's a problem, try another supplement. The pills are a
pain to swallow, but they can be the cleanest. My son and I each take ours
in a spoonful of unsweetened applesauce; it makes the pill much more
"palatable."
