I'm glad your situation is OK regarding the publisher.
When I was a senior in high school I had a bad experience with a record
company that had me pay to arrange and record a song I wrote. The singer
was aweful, and the arrangement was not at all what I had in mind for the
song. I made a grand total of $26.72 after my grandparents paid almost
$300. They and I were able to look at it as a learning experience, but it
was disappointing.
