This is an interesting thread.  I too like to have wine with dinner,
and see nothing wrong with it, as long as it's done responsibly and
the "wine doesn't have us" as one of you said.  But in my office we
have a woman who's also a Christian, who won't even be around anyone
who's having a drink.  A few months ago we went out to a restaurant
for a baby shower of a co-worker.  This woman came, and as soon as
someone at the table ordered a drink, she got up and left.  So we all
decided that when we go out for our Christmas dinner, none of us will
order alcohol at the restaurant, out of respect for her, but
afterwards when we go to a place down the street for kerioki (sp),
those who want to can order alcohol.  This woman probably won't go to
the kerioki, though as far as I'm concerned, she'd be welcome.  But
in a way it seems sad that someone would get up and leave a
restaurant just because someone else orders a drink.  Just because
one person orders a drink doesn't mean she has to.  Oh well.
