yes, but you would have allot of difficulty finding another 2M rig that has
better, louder or clearer audio out of the box.
That 2500M is and was one of the best mobile radios ever put out as far as
transmit audio, as well as enough punch in the receive audio and preamp to
be heard well in a noisy mobile environment.
As far as accessibility goes, it certainly isn't top notch, but it is still
simple enough of a radio to program and set up compared with many of the
newer ones.
If you get a manual in electronic format for that 2500M, and you know the
button layout on the front panel, you can program it as easily as any of the
icom/kenwoods with the voice synths.
As far as rolling across the band with the VFO, or using CTCSS tones that
are not preprogrammed, then yes, it might prove difficult, but as with most
radios, there are ways of making it accessable enough to use it for what its
meant to be used for.
