best thing to do is wipe everything off then reinstall windows!
otherwise u may connect the HD containing the corrupted Windows on IDE 2. Then boot from HD on primary IDE containing a healthy Windows XP.
Usually XP will automatically detect errors on the HD on IDE2 and attempt to repair file system errors.
If not then manually run scandisk on secondary HD and automatically fix file system errors. Then run defrag.
Else, if you have a windows XP Cd then boot from it and go into recovery console and run chkdsk /r
