One good way to secure your network is to set your router to only accept
connections from the MAC address of your own computers. The only weakness in
this method is that it is possible to use software to set a MAC address with
some systems. However, it would be very unlikely that someone on the outside
would know what MAC address to use.

We recently subscribed to Verizon for our ISP and have their wireless
router. Our nearly adult teens use a wireless USB adapter on their desktop
computers. Is there a web site with easily understandable instructions on
how to secure our wireless signal so strangers can't access our signal or
our computers? I just don't understand how anyone could use our signal when
access requires a WEP key anyway? I would really appreciate some knowledge
about this topic. Thank you.
