While in Washington, DC recently I had the opportunity to have dinner with
several celiac friends at the Bella Mando Restaurant. The restaurant is
located inside the Bethesda Marriott Hotel at 5151 Pooks Hill Road in Bethesda, MD
and is commonly called the Pooks Hill Marriott.
We made contact with the Executive Chef, Kathleen Wellington, who was on
duty that evening, because the group had both celiac AND dairy eating
restrictions.
The results were fantastic. Presentation was beautiful; taste was
excellent; and concerns were zero. Kathleen is extremely knowledgeable about foods,
food preparation, celiac disease, and customer needs. Based on my experience,
I would ask if Kathleen is on duty any time I was there because I would know
she would make my dining a distinct pleasure.
I have no connection with Kathleen or the Marriott, but I enjoy good, safe
dining out and hope you have an opportunity to enjoy it also.
Tom Sullivan
