Does celiac disease make the absorption of blood thinners unpredictable when
you accidentally get a dose of gluten? It seems that I still make mistakes
when eating out but so far it only leads to a few days or weeks of
discomfort, and the usual,... But once I get my aortic valve replaced with a
mechanical heart valve then it is more serious since it is necessary to get
just the right amount of blood thinning - too little and the valve generates
clots (strokes) too much and you get internal bleeding - both emergenices
from a simple common mistake. My other option is to get a tissue valve that
won't require thinners, but that only lasts for 10 years or so. I'm sure
there must be some on this list with replacement heart valves - what did you
do? I'll summarize.
Thanks,
Bob
