Thank you for your e-mail about StarKist Tuna. (Actually, I was
wondering about the new Tuna Creations packages.)
We certainly understand how difficult it can be to find foods that
meet the requirements of a restricted diet. StarKist Tuna products with
three exceptions do not contain gluten from wheat, barley, rye, oats,
millet, or buckwheat. In addition, it does not contain any derivatives of
gluten. The three exceptions are the crackers in the Lunch-To-Go kits, the
Herb & Garlic Tuna Creations and the new pouch Light Meat Teriyaki Tuna
Fillets.
The vegetable broth used in Starkist Tuna Creations is made from
dehydrated vegetables as determined by FDA standards. The broth must
consist of two or more of the following: beans, cabbage, carrots, celery,
garlic, onions, parsley, peas, potatoes, green or red bell peppers, spinach
or tomatoes. It does contain soybeans, not soy sauce.
Thanks again for contacting us. If we can be of more help, please
call us at 1-800-252-1587, Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern
Time, or visit our website anytime at
