there are a few hand held units to treat skin conditions, but I think
the cheapest 'desktop' models are found at
http://www.kaliszincolor.com/light-therapy.htm

I haven't gotten around to buying one and testing them out yet. I saw
a note on other Lightbox websites (ex
https://www.sunbox.com/Products/10000LuxBright.asp) that Fluorescent
bulbs naturally emit UV . Then I started trying to research if THAT
UV is the UVB for Vit D production (but I haven't figured out the
answer yet). I have a Sunray light therapy box. It would be cheaper
to just take off the UV- shielding plastic diffuser :)

Hmm, this site has that the UV from mercury in bulbs is at 253.7nm

Apollo Light has a blue light for SAD at 470 nm http://www.apollolight.com/
UVA 400 nm - 320 nm
UVB 320 nm - 290 nm
UVC 290 nm - 100 nm

So I answered my question, Fluorescent bulbs give off UVC, not UVB.
And the Blue light only helps SAD melatonin levels, not helps make
Vit D (Rats! but yeah, I finally took the time to get the answer!)

Sorry, long answer for a short question (but I wanted to pull
together the info)
