Colin,
I have the same criticism of the speech in my R75, and it's not
anything you can fix in the menus. I believe there's an adjustment
on the speech board for volume, but I still don't like the way they
set it up. The speech volume should be independent of the receiver's
audio, and should be adjustable from somewhere other than inside the radio.
