Hi Darron;
To better answer your question or add to any possible confusion, you need to
first think about what you want.
Essentially your basic choices are a hand held radio for uhf and or vhf, a
mobile or base radio for uhf and or vhf, an hf radio, or a radio that will
cover both hf, uhf and vhf. Once you make that basic decision, lots of
folks here can give you ideas as to radios that are user friendly.
Remember, the more frequencies you want a radio to cover, very often the
higher the price. The icom 706 may be a possible exception.
Merry Christmas
Rich
