go in control panel, sounds and audio devices, control tap to audio, tap to
sound recording device, make sure that's set right, then sound recording
volume and make sure the right jack is selected. Skype changes everything
around on you unless you check the box in the advanced options to tell it
not to adjust your audio properties, so if you, like me, have your mic
plugged in to the front port of the sound blaster card, I don't know if you
have that or not, but if you do, you have to uncheck that thing in skype and
set it in the recording volume where I said to go before, and you'll have to
change that every time if you don't fix that setting in skype. It's the most
annoying setting ever for me though I'm sure a newbie might like it.
