Dear Friends:

The holidays are upon us! Don't even think about driving through the
woods to grandma's house (or Aunt Ethel's either) without your copy of THE
GLUTEN-FREE BIBLE (Henry Holt, 2005) wherein you can bone up on strategies for
glutenous tables, holiday buffets, snarky relatives, dense caterers,
well-meaning, but unenlightened friends and sail through the season well feted. (Hint:
Show said GLUTEN-FREE BIBLE to hostess well before Turkey Day and reap the
rewards!)

Even better, host the holiday yourself. With Nigella Lawson's proper
English trifle paired with Connie Sarros' sponge cake...Johnny Alamilla's quinoa
gratin with ancho chili cream...Bobby Flay's saffron risotto cakes with
shrimp...Rebecca Bunting's sweet or savory pie crusts...Beth Hillson's chicken
crepes...Rick Bayless' quesadillas asadas... and Shola Olunoyo's classic souffles
-- not to mention a complete Thanksgiving dinner from Lee Tobin, Rebecca
Reilly and Barbara Cassidy -- eating well really is the best revenge!

And don't forget the little ones. I've been visiting Story Time's
around the country and copies of NO MORE CUPCAKES & TUMMY ACHES (Xlibris, 2005)
are turning up in all the best school lockers, lunch rooms and show and tell's.
It's especially popular with teachers and dieticians who teach that every
child on a special diet is special. With a foreword by Dr. Alessio Fasano,
gorgeous illustrations by Jane Kirkwood and a scrumptious title cupcake (gluten
and lactose free) designed just for the book by Whole Foods Chef Lee Tobin,
it's guaranteed to put a smile on the gluten-free cookie monster on your list.
