Hi Ray,

This is rather an amusing problem that can be caused in two
ways. I'm really sorry that I can't find a message I wrote
about the exact same problem last year.

1) With some video cards and drivers there is an option to
"Rotate" the display. However this is usually only with
certain laptops which are a cross between a laptop and a
Tablet PC.

2) There is a problem quoted on the Microsoft Knowledge
Base, but for some reason I cannot get access to the KB
tonight. It relates to the same problem which could happen
in XP and XP Service Pack 1. The solution (I'm sorry to
say) was simply to Upgrade to Service Pack 2.

Sorry again that I can't give you a more specific answer.

George.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Fixing a Display Problem

Hello:

I'm working with someone that uses JAWS and also has some
partial vision. For some reason, his display has gotten so
it looks like it's lying on its side. When we went into
control panel and checked the display settings, I noticed
his screen resolution was showing the higher number second,
for example, 1024 by 1280, not what you would expect, 1280
by 1024. I've been checking around in the display
properties and can't find anything obvious I can direct him
to do to fix this. Anyone have any ideas? This is a
Windows XP Computer.

Thanks,
