Hi everybody:
A friend gave his IBM thinkpad 600 to try to fix it has the following problems;
first went to turn it on there are two short beeps follow by the error codes 00161,00163,00192 and sometimes a four code 00171 a press OK, then appears a hardware test program the let you test anything, so the test everything; in the system board the following errors appear DEV 001,ERR 91 FRU 3610, also it tell me that the tempurature is too high inside the PC. I found that the two beeps mean either is either a video problem or a motherboard problem, error code 161 means dead CMOS battery but I don't know where is located because I don't a manual, my friend lost it, I don't what the rest of the codes mean. Please can't someone help me? Can it be fix? Is it worth fixing? or should my friend be better off purchasing a new laptop.
Thank you for your help.
Antonio
