Hi Tom,
Thanks for the interesting post.
Unfortunately, no drug companies are going to fund research in this ara, but
there are several studies showing tumor reduction resulting from low carb
diets:
1: Nebeling LC, Lerner E. Implementing a ketogenic diet based on
medium-chain triglyceride oil in pediatric patients with cancer. J Am Diet
Assoc. 1995 Jun;95(6):693-7.
2: Nebeling LC, Miraldi F, Shurin SB, Lerner E. Effects of a ketogenic
diet on tumor metabolism and nutritional status in pediatric oncology
patients: two case reports. J Am Coll Nutr. 1995 Apr;14(2):202-8.
3: Flatt PR, Swanston-Flatt SK, Snell K, Tan KS, Marks V. Effects of
diet-induced ketosis in rats with hypoglycaemia due to a serially
transplantable insulinoma. Diabete Metab. 1987 Sep-Oct;13(5):503-7.
Best Wishes,
Ron
