These are not necessarily theological but I made note of them in the books I
read for their obvious biblical value.

From Tom Clancy's Book: A Debt Of Honor.
When you became a marine, you swore an oath before God. I
understand why we do that now; it's a help; not a threat. It's
something to remind you how important words are. Ideas are
important; principles are important; words are important. Your
word is the most important of all. Your word is who you are.

Taken from Short grass song, a western by Blakely.
One of the characters in the story was having trouble deciding if
he believed in God. He said he did not think he believed in God
but when asked, he admitted he in fact was afraid he might go to
hell. Thus, he realized he did in fact believe in God if that
were the case. Then the book said, "To fear was to believe. Not
just to profess belief but to feel it. To fear God was to
believe in God. To believe in God was to fear nothing."

3. Taken from a book authored by Tom Clancy and another author.
the book was called, Op-Center.
An instructor who taught at the FBI and trained
special forces type people said of himself, he was not a man given
to speculation. His habit was self evaluation. The quote was,
"Do your best, look back, then see how you can do better next
time."
