Hi Trish, welcome. This list is pretty friendly. Any specific questions just
ask and someone or many people will reply.
As for grains, I avoid wheat very seriously, but I do occasionally eat other
grains like rice and corn. I don't think they are 'good', just not as bad
for me as wheat. Generally my diet is low to very low carb, with lots of
meat and fat. I do eat quite a bit of fruit on occasion, and veggies.
My wife has been on vacation for a month and a half, so I have been eating
paleo much more strictly, a lot more meat. I have lost about eight pounds in
this period. I would say that maybe 4 pounds of this is water weight, one
day of high-carb meals will gain me this much weight. Obviously that is not
fat gain.
My wife gets back in August. I am very interested to see what happens to my
weight when I start eating her cooking again. She accommodates my diet
pretty well, but does add rice or potatoes of which I eat some. Pretty small
quantities by normal standards, but it does seem to make a difference.
Good luck.
Tom
