Thanks for forcing the clarification. ANY food protein in the blood is foreign, whether it came from a tuna steak or a caramel malt. Only amino acids should get into circulation. So some proteins when they leak into the bloodstream via a leaky gut mimic self proteins and cause an immunilogical attack on the self thus causing autoimmune disease.
Not sure whether, when say a sufficient amount of wheat to cause a leaky gut is consumed, "clean" beef protein will breach the gaps and cause autoimmune issues.
