Ruth,
There is a reason that I live in the unHamptons. No particular need to
go to Vermont, for one thing. We got our own dirt road w/in a 2 minute
walk and plenty of critters. I blend in pretty good w/ the riff raff.
Nobody has any idea what I am doing here. Nor are there that many people
trying to move in to change our slovenly libertarian ways -- which is
fairly amazing w/in 70 miles of Manhattan. Why, just today the lady in
the Post Office deduced that I must be special because she could read
the label I had printed on my envelope, she said, "For a man you print
real good!" I was not sure what to make of that or her thinking I'd gone
to Catholic school, which I had not, so I told her it had more to do
with architecture than religion. On a good day we are an hour out, on a
bad day five hours from the big downtown and there are neighbors here
who never ever go to the city for anything.
