Dear list members:
I received several responses to my inquiry, all of them favorable to
trying the bars. Dozens of celiacs replied that they often have them,
consistently experiencing no reactions at all. Some even mentioned being
ultra-sensitive to minimum traces of gluten, yet they did not react to
these bars. In addition, everybody agreed that they taste delicious!
Somebody pointed at the chance that the bars may cause gas to certain
individuals due to some sugar content, not gluten. I also learned that
Kraft has a larger version of these bars called South Beach Diet Meal
Replacement Bars. I was told they are sold individually at Wal-Mart with
the Boost and other nutritional products.
Since Kraft follows good labeling procedures, everybody felt confident
that the chances of cross-contamination were insignificant. I will be
recommending the bars to my support group. Thanks to all of you for the
wonderful feedback!
Best wishes,
Isabella in California
