You should not have to make any changes in the BIOS unless your mobo is really funky. Win XP can run all the card types with no input from you. Just do it and see what happens. It should all work without a hitch.

Thanks for your info.
Does anyone know if any setting in the bios have to be changed when install
the xd/sd dell media reader ? I know on 5150 dell the card reader and floppy
disk unit work of the same connector.
