Thanks for your info.
Does anyone know if any setting in the bios have to be changed when install
the xd/sd dell media reader ? I know on 5150 dell the card reader and floppy
disk unit work of the same connector.

The answer for both questions is that you need to do nothing at all beyond
plugging in the reader and inserting the card.
