I think you cut out material into shapes, sew them together, sandwich a
layer of batting between the sewed material and a backing, put that all on a
frame, tie the strings, and sew around the edge of the blanket.  My mom
might sew around the edges, flipping it inside-out before sewing the last
side, before putting it on the frame.

I ended up not helping with it.  I didn't want to very badly and they didn't
tell me they were ready to tie.  My mom thought I couldn't do it, the way
the blocks were (if I understand corectly).
