In Germany, at the ripe old age of 30, at the site of a car accident,  
I was let off with a promise to see the authorities as soon as  
possible to straighten out a visa issue.  It did not seem to the  
police to be in the best of national interests to haul a productive  
individual off to jail for a less than black and white situation, nor  
had I been in the country since I was three.

I am, however, sure your experiences must have been traumatic and to  
the contrary for you to find humor in an Asian-American Republican  
woman coming to the UW campus to advocate a Nigerian pharmacy  
student's deportation.
