Vera,
I doubt if anyone forgets the wonder(s) of flight. It is a wonder to
behold! But no matter how wonderful, we understand it.
Maybe what we should try to understand better is that man (human) is the
most complex of beings and as such may not be simplistically likened
to any highly acclaimed and/or successful fete even if it is of his/her own
design.
In short, the human mind is highly powerful. It has been proven times
without number how very difficult it is to break the will (inset of the
mind) of a human, talk less of when those wills are nested together, for
example, the Iraqi "insurgencies". Even when you think you have broken the
will, you find out you have not; Kunta Kinte, Nelson Mandela, Mohammed Ali,
Rosa Parks, Rev. Martin Luther King Jnr. are but a few very notables that
comes to mind. Shakespeare said it best: "...there is no art to find the
mind's construction in the face!". I guess the question remains; Do we
really have a moral obligation to do what we cannot do?
