I went to the Ricola website (they make coughdrops) at www.ricolausa.com to see whether their cough drops are gluten-free. The ingredients include "starch syrup" which got my attention. This is what it says at their website:
   
  In the United States, there are no established government standards as to what can be considered gluten-free or what is safe for use in celiac patients. Our products contain less than 0.01% gluten. We urge you to share this information with your doctor or to contact the Celiac Sprue Association of the USA @1-877-CSA-4CSA. 
   
  What are opinions from list members about this? I've relied on their cough drops in the past for soothing my throat, but will no doubt have to find a new source of cough drops.
