A recent summary on green tea contained the following statement:

THIS IS NOT CORRECT.
There are at least 2 varieties of traditional green teas that may contain
gluten, and I'm not talking about fruit flavored or sweetened teas.
Genmaicha and Mugicha are Japanese teas that may (but not always) contain
barley. Genmaicha looks like shredded green leaves with tiny pieces of
"popcorn" that is sometimes puffed rice and sometimes puffed barley. Mugicha
is usually an oolong tea with roasted barley, but you will sometimes find
American companies selling a green tea version of it. These aren't common teas
that you will find in mainstream supermarkets, but in Asian markets or from
online tea brokers they are easy to get. Just be aware of the use of barley in
some teas.
